Subject RE: Committers and Alias.txt
Date Sat, 11 Feb 2012 20:25:00 GMT
Rob,

I haven't added any alias to try that, but I bet it is updated automatically in its new location.
(The old location of Alias.txt is now a one-liner that directs users to a new location in
id.apache.org.)

I also notice an improvement in the updating of Alias.txt by folks changing the e-mail they
subscribe to ooo-private with. This is good news.

There are about a dozen e-mail disconnects currently rattling around the Roster, and this
improvement will make it much easier to advise committers on cleaning those up. The great
thing is the basic chain of authentication is now tied to the Apache ID.

I am very grateful to @infra for this great usability win.

 - Dennis

So do the email aliases defined in this new web interface still get
written out to the old mailAlias.txt file?
