Subject RE: URL redirection lost

I agree. Using the DNS is too heavy-handed.

WARNING, WARNING: another orcmid instant-design effort ahead:

What is required is an effective redirect from to the AOOo BZ instance. The trick is to
have whatever rewrite is needed for show_bug.cgi?id=XXXXX to map also.

This can only be done on the current live site of course, although it could
work on the cut-over site too.

To have it work on the test ooo-site
doesn't solve the problem of the immediate breakage, but it might be all that
can be done. If the redirect is at the /qa/issues sub-level, it shouldn't
matter in an .htaccess there how that path is reached and it should still work
when cut-over happens. As long as all the rest of the path is preserved in
the redirect, we're golden.

If not, a rewrite rule is needed to do something about the .cgi and the query
part. I've never had to deal with that.

This won't work. because the issuetracker is not related to You can use any aviable subdomain at ooo. This means
that * will work

And there are other problems. There are still a load of links who point
to the old IssueZilla system. Bernt Eilers wrote a redirect script for it.

We have to replace this redirect script too.
