I hope so.

users@ooo is one of over 300 OpenOffice mailing lists. I'm helping
set up some new mailing lists at Apache to take over those functions
going forward. In this process I will be sending out many similar
notifications, inviting OpenOffice.org list participants to join the
relevant lists inthe Apache project. In all cases I am going to
request that follow up questions go to the relevant Apache lists. I'm
not going to stick around and monitor hundreds of OpenOffice lists
waiting for questions to come up. But I will make it clear that
follow up questions should come to the Apache lists, where I and other
project members can handle them all at once.

If you have a strong belief that this should be handled differently,
then I would welcome your efforts.

For example you could:

1) Come up with a list of what you think the most common questions will be

2) Start a thread here on ooo-dev to ask these questions and get answers

3) Write this up in a "List Migration FAQ"

4) We'll include a link to that FAQ in our announcements

5) (optional) You can then sign up for all the OOo mailing lists to
answer questions missed in the FAQ, or for the many cases where the
reader didn't bother to even read the FAQs. You can respond to
anonymous users demanding that you debate them about the migration,
complain if you don't give them your exclusive attention and respond
immediately to questions sent at 3am your local time.

Regards,

-Rob
