Please read this note in its entirety. It contains important information re=
lated to this mailing list, its migration to the Apache Software Foundation=
, and the steps you must take to ensure continuous access to the list.

As you may have heard, Oracle contributed the OpenOffice.org (OOo) project =
to Apache in June.=C2=A0All new projects at Apache start in the "Incubator"=
, a special part of Apache where new projects ("Podlings") and their commun=
ities are given special attention by Apache "mentors" as they learn about A=
pache, ensure that the source code meets Apache's license requirements, and=
 work toward their initial Apache release.

In parallel with the coding efforts needed before we can publish Apache Ope=
nOffice.org 3.4.0, the Apache OpenOffice.org community, working with the Ap=
ache Infrastructure team, is migrate the many legacy OOo websites and other=
 online services formerly hosted by Sun/Oracle on to Apache servers.=C2=A0T=
his has been a huge effort and we are showing good progress in many areas.=

Among the services hosted by Oracle on the legacy OOo servers are over 300 =
mailing lists, including the <insert-legacy-mailing-list-name> mailing list=
 you are reading now.=C2=A0As part of the migration to the Apache servers w=
e will be switching from the SYMPA mailing list manager to ezmlm, which the=
 rest of Apache uses.=C2=A0In order to preserve your subscription to the li=
st, you will need to resubscribe to the new list address, per the following=
 instructions:

# Send an email to <subscribe-address-for-new-list>. This should be done fr=
om the email account where you want to receive the list messages.
# This will generate a confirmation email which will be sent to your email =
address. You will need to reply to the confirmation email in order to compl=
ete your subscription to the new list.
# To send posts to the new list, you will send to the following address: <p=
ost-address-for-new-list>
# And if you ever want to unsubscribe to the new list, you can do so by sen=
ding an email to <unsubscribe-address-for-new-list>
