OpenOffice.org wird vom 22. bis 24. September 2004 mit seiner internationalen +Konferenz in +Berlin-Adlershof +tagen. Zu dem insgesamt dreitätigen Open Source-Treffen +erwarten die +Organisatoren mehrere hundert Teilnehmer. Eingeladen in den Tagungskomplex des +Erwin Schrödinger-Zentrums hat die Humboldt Universität.

Anwender und Entwickler von OpenOffice.org werden in Vorträgen und +Diskussionen über Einsatz- und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten der Open +Source-Software informiert.

Neben zahlreichen Repräsentanten des öffentlichen Sektors werden führende +Software-Entwickler aus den USA und Europa in Berlin über die weitere +Entwicklung der offenen und freien Büro-Software berichten.

Im Mittelpunkt der für Interessenten offenen Veranstaltungsreihe stehen dabei +die übergeordneten Themenkomplexe "Kostenreduktion und Investitionsschutz +durch Einsatz offener Technologien" und "Möglichkeiten der Beteiligung und +Entwicklung an OpenOffice.org". +Vom 28. - 30. September fand die 3. Internationale OpenOffice.org +Conference in Koper Capodristria in Slowenien statt. Erstmals außerhalb +Deutschlands trafen sich Entwickler und Anwender von OpenOffice.org, um +sich in Vorträgen und Diskussionen über die Einsatz- und +Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten der Open Source-Software zu informieren. +Die OOoCon stand ganz im Zeichen der Version 2.0, deren erster Release +Candidate während der Konferenz veröffentlicht wurde. +

+

+Die Mitglieder des deutschsprachigen Projekts bedanken sich bei den +Organisatoren Urska Colner, Robert Ludwik und Davide Dozza und den vielen +weiteren Helfern, die dieses unvergessliche Event möglich gemacht haben. +

+

+Aus zahlreichen Ländern haben sich die Konferenzteilnehmer in der historisch +reizvollen Stadt Koper Capodristria an der slowenischen Adria-Küste +eingefunden und neben vielen informativen Veranstaltungen auch die Gelegenheit +gehabt, die Bräuche des Landes und die gastfreundlichen Einwohner kennenzulernen. +Viele Teilnehmer haben den Besuch in Slowenien zu einem Kurzurlaub verlängert. +

+

+Am Mittwoch Abend fand zum Abschluss des Community-Tages in der +eindrucksvollen Kulisse des Museums die „Wednesday Party“ statt. Hier +konnten die Besucher einheimischen Wein kosten und slowenischen Gesängen und +Tänzen beiwohnen. +

+

+Donnerstag und Freitag standen ganz im Zeichen der Vorträge, die an +verschiedenen Plätzen in Koper stattfanden. Von den Vorträgen wurde größtenteils +Video- und Audiomitschnitte angefertigt. +

4. Internationale OpenOffice.org Conference (OOoCon 2006)

+Lang erwartet und wie jedes Jahr wieder viel zu schnell vorbei: Die +OpenOffice.org-Konferenz, die nunmehr zum vierten Mal ausgetragen wurde. +Nach den Konferenzorten Hamburg, Berlin und Koper/Capodristria +(Slowenien) haben dieses Jahr in Lyon / Frankreich über 350 +Konferenz-Teilnehmer die vielen interessanten Vorträge rund um +OpenOffice.org besucht. Ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm rundete die +Konferenz zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis ab. +

+

+Die Teilnehmer des deutschsprachigen Projekts danken dem gesamten +OOoCon-Team rund um Sophie Gautier und Cedric Bosdonnat für die +hervorragende Organisation der Konferenz.

+

+Am ersten Tag der Konferenz fanden traditionell fast ausschließlich +Community-Meetings statt. Einige davon waren öffentlich und für jeden +Interessierten zugänglich, bei anderen handelte es sich um Meetings +verschiedener Arbeitsgruppen oder Gremien, die den jeweiligen +Mitgliedern oder Projektleitern vorbehalten sind. Themenschwerpunkte +waren unter anderem Marketing und Qualitätssicherung. Der erste Tag +klang mit einer beeindruckenden Bootsfahrt durch Lyon aus. + +

+Die beiden weiteren Tage standen ganz im Zeichen der Vorträge zu +unterschiedlichsten Themen rund um OpenOffice.org. In jeweils 3 +parallelen Tracks konnten sich die Teilnehmer sowohl über technische als +auch nicht-technische Themen informieren. +

+Der Dienstag stand ganz im Zeichen von Marketing, Performance und +Interoperabilität, während am Mittwoch insbesondere Case Studies, +Building OpenOffice.org, QA & Testing, ODF, Community Management, +Extension Development, Framework & Porting auf dem Programm standen. +

OpenOffice.org mit eigenem Stand vertreten. Starke Nachfrage nach PrOOo-Box und Migration in KMUs und der Verwaltung

Vom 18. bis zum 22. Oktober 2004 fand in München die Systems 2004 statt, auf der OpenOffice.org +zusammen mit anderen wichtigen Open Source-Projekten in einem kleinen Pavillion in Halle A2 mit einem eigenen +Stand vertreten war. Verantwortlich für den Stand zeichneten diesmal (in alphabetischer +Reihenfolge) Florian Effenberger, Eric Hoch, Ludwig Högner, Thomas Krumbein, Christian Lohmaier, +Bernd Obermayr, Tobias Paukert, Jacqueline Rahemipour und Andreas Wenz.

Insbesondere die PrOOo-Box stieß auf starke +Nachfrage, sowohl bei Heimanwendern, als auch bei kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen (KMUs) +sowie der Verwaltung. Hauptthemen diesmal waren die Migration auf OpenOffice.org sowie die Features der im +nächsten Jahr kommenden Version 2.0.

Symbolische Übergabe an die Stadt München

+

Herr Wilhelm Hoegner, Leiter des Amtes für Informations- und Datenverarbeitung (AfID) der Stadt München, konnte sich am Messestand auf der Systems aus erster Hand über den Entwickungsstand von OpenOffice.org informieren. Die Projektmitglieder gaben Auskunft über die aktuelle Version 1.1.3 und die geplanten zukünftigen Entwicklungen des freien Office-Pakets. Die Vorstandsmitglieder Jacqueline Rahemipour und Thomas Krumbein des frisch gegründeten Vereins "OpenOffice.org Deutschland e.V." übergaben Herrn Hoegner symbolisch eine OpenOffice.org PrOOo-Box und wünschen im Namen des gesamten Teams der Stadt München zur geplanten Migration zu Linux viel Erfolg.

+Für uns war die Messe überaus erfolgreich. Viele Besucher interessierten sich für die neue Version 2.0 und informierten sich vor Ort über Möglichkeiten, das Projekt zu unterstützen. Neben Privatkunden hatten wir auch viele positive Gespräche mit Firmen und Behörden, die Migrationen anstreben oder sich bereits in der Migrationsphase befinden.

+Am Montag, dem 24. Oktober, übergaben Thomas Krumbein, Florian Effenberger und Ludwig Hoegner dem Münchener Oberbürgermeister Christian Ude symbolisch eine PrOOo-Box mit Version 2.0 von OpenOffice.org, welches beim Projet LiMux zum Einsatz kommen wird und wünschten für die laufende Migration viel Erfolg. Abgerundet wurde der Messeauftritt durch einen Vortrag von Thomas Krumbein und Florian Effenberger, am Freitag, welche zusammen mit Wilhelm Hoegner, dem Hauptabteilungsleiter Informationstechnologie der Landeshauptstadt München, zum Thema "OpenOffice.org in öffentlichen Verwaltungen" im Rahmen des eGovernment-Forums referierten.

+Wir bedanken uns bei allen, die unseren Auftritt unterstützt und möglich gemacht haben! Besonders hervorheben möchten wir hierbei die Firma mediabit, welche uns eine CD-Dupliziermaschine für die Produktion der PrOOO-Box-CDs für den Zeitraum der Messe zur Verfügung gestellt hat.
