I'm certainly not apposed to the audit flag concept (just attempting to express the trade I made at this beginning)... In fact, its rapidly growing on me ;). Paul, I think we you propose is a great solution. Since we have a mix of components (some of which are not presently even included in the top level build) some level of flexibility seems prudent to me.
