Subject [jira] [Commented] (ODFTOOLKIT-380) Unexpected attribute "style:contextual-spacing" fails extended conformant ODF1.2
Date Mon, 25 Nov 2013 18:44:35 GMT

Svante Schubert commented on ODFTOOLKIT-380:

Thank you for your comment.

I share your concern.
The validator will be updated with every new ODF schema. It seems this problem is a LibreOffice
problem (or a general problem of the slowness of standards and the requirements of applications
to deal with customers).

If any XML is not within the ODF spec it is not ODF.
I usually do a search over
or my local RelaxNG Schema files, which you may download from
or the main OASIS ODF TC page).

A Google search even gave me the ODF TC JIRA issue of the problem/reason:

Would you be so kind to comment this problem to the ODF TC comment list:
This might move such a problem in a wider attention. There is nothing as efficient as political
pressure ;)
As for similar reasons, I do not want to be the one, who throws the stone..

Thanks in advance Robinson Tryon!

extended conforming ODF1.2 because it includes unexpected attributes:
> Hello.World.odt/styles.xml[2,4870]: Error: unexpected attribute "style:contextual-spacing"
> Per OASIS spec
> "OpenDocument extended documents may contain elements and attributes not defined by the
OpenDocument schema. Elements and attributes not defined by the OpenDocument schema are called
foreign elements and attributes."
> The spec continues:
> "Foreign elements and attributes shall not be associated with a namespace that is listed
in tables 1, 2 or 3 of section 1.5."
> The context in which the "style:contextual-spacing" attribute is used is as follows:
> <style:paragraph-properties fo:margin-top="0.1665in" fo:margin-bottom="0.0835in" style:contextual-spacing="false"
> Is this document conformant to the extended ODF 1.2 spec? If so, the validator should
be updated.
