I discovered that I had managed to have CFLAGS set to optimize when 
building the debug version of httpd, which explained why i couldn't 
get gdb to behave.

In any case, the reason that it doesn't work is because ftp_glob.c is 
totally APR-unaware. It uses stat/lstat and friends directly, uses the 
default struct stat (which is non-LFS) and so on.

You can probably kludge together stuff to make the thing work, but the 
correct solution seems to be to make the thing use APR functions 
instead. If this isn't fixed properly you'll only get more nasty 
surprises later on...

In fact, what does ftp_glob.c do that apr_match_glob can't do?
