Subject [jira] [Commented] (MESOS-74) Create Mesos Debian Package
Date Thu, 20 Jun 2013 19:04:22 GMT

Charles Reiss commented on MESOS-74:

This looks nice. Perhaps some variant could be stuffed in support/ sanely?

Some nits about your scripts, Tomas:
- --with-java-home is not a real configure option (This is a documentation bug);
- Mesos links against with -rpath when java is enabled, so the package should have
a dependency on the particular JDK version;
- To package without java, you should pass --disable-java to configure, otherwise
should autodetect it (if it's present);
- I think Debian policy would place the JAR in share/java and docs in share/docs, though this
would hardly be Mesos's most important deviation from Debian policy;

> Having Mesos be installable via debian package (i.e. using dpkg -i) would make it easier
for folks to download, install, and try out Mesos!
