I have them with 2.8.1 and IE 6.
I have them also with Opera.
(I did not notice them with latest Firefox but I cannot check now).

I thought everyone knew these #'s show up.  

I see them on jspwiki.org (even with a shift-refresh) I am using Firefox 2.0.18.

I too changed the css on my 2.8.1 install to make the ugly little critters hidden.

Hmm, at least in v3.0.0-svn-16 it's all fine! However, didn't test it with 2.8.1.
