I will commit the fix to both trunk (3.0) and 2.8.
The trunk is still broken, so you probably don't want to use that now.
We were just in the process of releasing 2.8.4 but it is not done yet I think, it would be
nice if we could sneak this patch in there and release it.

What do you think fellow committers ?
