Subject [jira] Commented: (JSPWIKI-346) Provide proper validation mechanisms (for Wiki page names)
Date Mon, 18 Aug 2008 04:51:44 GMT

Harry Metske commented on JSPWIKI-346:

Well, our company standards say that input validations should be done on both the client and
the server, the client-side to make the ui more intuitive and being able to tell the user
as soon as possible that he's doing something wrong, and the server-side for security reasons
of course.

The real problem here is that we want to normalize page names, we need one central place where
we can validate if someone use a proper page name, currently there are more places where this
checking is done.
Stripes can solve (at least part of) the problem I think.

page saying "renaming not possible, unknown error"... not very user friendly I think.
