Subject [jira] Commented: (JSPWIKI-93) Clean up corepages
Date Wed, 09 Jan 2008 13:54:34 GMT

Janne Jalkanen commented on JSPWIKI-93:

Ah, you raise a good point: how should plugins like UnusedPages, etc, consider these localized
subpages? What if there exists only MoreMenu_en, but no MoreMenu? Should all the internal
getPage() commands return a reference to MoreMenu_en or null? Should the UnusedPagesPlugin
list MoreMenu_en as a non-referenced or referenced page, if there is a reference to MoreMenu?

The ReferenceManager cannot be extended to handle these subcases - the allowEnglishPlurals
management code is *already* highly confusing.

(The "Administration" -page makes sense, though.)

Another issue is that we would still be using English as the user-visible name for the page:
MoreMenu_fi is not Finnish - it should be something like "Lisävalikko". How should these
be managed? How does the user know that he's supposed to be referencing "RecentChanges" instead
of "Viimeisimmät muutokset?", if that's what the page title is saying?

> The which comes with jspwiki download is rather out of date. Someone
needs to go through it and clean the whole thing up. For example, make sure we have all of
the pages that the default template uses as built-in (e.g. MoreMenu, EditPageHelp, etc).
