Subject [jira] [Created] (ISIS-231) Use Apache Shiro as security framework
Date Mon, 18 Jun 2012 18:51:42 GMT
Jeroen van der Wal created ISIS-231:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Use Apache Shiro as security framework
                 Key: ISIS-231
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ISIS-231
             Project: Isis
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Security
            Reporter: Jeroen van der Wal
            Priority: Minor

Apache Shiro [1] is a powerful and easy-to-use Java security framework that performs authentication,
authorization, cryptography, and session management. Shiro provides out-of-the-box realms
for popular data sources like LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, and JDBC and can be extended
to make use of domain objects too. Replacing the custom security classes with Shiro would
increase functionality with less code to maintain.
