Subject [jira] [Commented] (HAMA-457) Refactoring of BSPPeerImpl
Date Wed, 19 Oct 2011 12:32:10 GMT

Edward J. Yoon commented on HAMA-457:

Please try again your patch.

It'd be nice if we can more easily maintenance the barrier synchronizer.

Don't you think it is easier now? Where is the problem?

Before someone starts to feel unstable and wants to implement their own sync server, I'll
report here.

Sadly there is no alternative to zookeeper. If one decides to do so, I am going to write a
tutorial. At least I am the person who have to answer the questions on the mailing list then.
So leave this up to me.

I think it is a great opportunity for others to research new ways of barrier synchronization.
Whether they build their own or improve zookeepers, I don't care.

I mean that we have to focus on making more manageable code.

What do you think how many people will want to implement their own synchronization server?
If user wants to implement their own synchronization server, why they have to use Hama?
