+1, that's what I'm saying.

No worries. Basically I was just saying there is some magic you can do 
in your local M2 $HOME/.m2/settings.xml that can "turn on" Apache snapshots
through a profile. If we inherit though in our project from the apache main pom
(which we are proposing to do) I think we get that for free. So maybe we can 
ignore my #2.
