Subject RE: [PROPOSAL] Apache DeviceMap, a data repository and APIs for mobile device information
Date Mon, 26 Dec 2011 17:28:17 GMT
All,

Would device data licensed under the Mozilla Public License be
compatible with the aims of this Proposal? If so you may wish to
evaluate http://51degrees.mobi which provides device data under the
Mozilla Public License in addition to a premium paid for data set. Both
the free and premium data set is already integrated into the Apache
Mobile Filter (http://fiftyone.apachemobilefilter.org/). A clean sheet
was used when creating this solution avoiding the possible issues
referred to in earlier posts.

You should also consider the matching approach you'll be using early in
the design stage as this is linked to the device data being used and the
methods used to maintain the device data. 51Degrees.mobi includes
matching logic in the data set.

Regards,

James Rosewell - 51Degrees.mobi Founder and CEO

important thing to understand.
