The reason we (Subversion) do not ship binaries is simple: we don't have the resources to
meet the request, and most of our users use Subversion as part of a third-party tool, which
most often *does* ship as a binary.

We've supported community efforts to create binaries, even going so far as to host selected
variants on our downloads page, but they are still not considered official artifacts of the
