Within POI, we use OpenXML4J for the fiddly bits in dealing with ooxml files. The company behind OpenXML4J would like OpenXML4J to become part of POI. Having spoken with Robert Burrell Donkin about it, we think that a software grant would probably be the best bet. (Most users of OpenXML4J do so through POI, and poi committers currently make up half the OpenXML4J committer base) Is the process as documented at http://incubator.apache.org/ip-clearance/ip-clearance-template.html the correct one to follow for this?
