There is some concern that Derby itself is not the right community to host this tool because Derby's charter explicitly discourages GUI contributions: http://db.apache.org/derby/derby_charter.html#Database+Technology However, in the past our user community has shown a fair amount of interest in GUI tools. Would it make sense to try to incubate a separate, related community around this contribution? Or is it premature to approach the incubator with a body of code that only has two developers?
