Subject RE: [VOTE] Approve the release of Apache Lucene.Net 2.0 build 003 incubating
Date Tue, 06 Mar 2007 03:21:34 GMT
Hi Dan and all,

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to review this release and comment
on it. Much appreciated.

I have completed #2, and #4 -- those are now committed into SVN.

I am working on #1 trying to figure it out. This is my first time, so there
is a lot form me to look over and figure things out.

As for #3, I can use some more comment. The current header reflect what's
found in the Java Lucene source code such that any place Java Lucene uses
the newer header (http://www.apache.org/legal/src-headers.html#headers) so
is Apache Lucene.Net. Won't this do?

Regards,

For #1, there is a lot of information at:
http://www.apache.org/dev/release-signing.html
Reading through that all can be a bit daunting, but there's a LOT of very
good information about GPG and encryption and keys and stuff there.

For #2, you just need a DISCLAIMER file in root that says something like:
-----------
Apache Lucene.NET is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software
Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further
review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision
making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful
ASF projects.

While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness
or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be
fully endorsed by the ASF.

See:
ttp://www.apache.org/legal/src-headers.html

I hope that helps.
