The individual behind these threads has created similar churn on other
ASF lists, such as Velocity. The individual works on a product that is
an alternative to Velocity. Recently, WebWork switched a core
dependency from Velocity to this product, so now this indivdual feels
like he has a "stake" in the Apache Struts project. This person is a
long-time critic of the ASF and the Apache Way, and he is simply using
the merger as an excuse to air his usual criticisms.

The actual development community is robust and healthy. Everyone
involved is excited and engaged. And, despite our excitement over the
new codebase, work continues on the existing codebase. A new release
of Struts Action 1.3 is imminent, and many pepole expect this one
(1.3.3) to go GA.
