Sure - but there's a marked difference between a member saying 'cool
idea' and 'I'm willing to dedicate myself to mentoring this project'
and all that entails.

Lowering the bar so that if *any* ASF member says the project is of
interest to them, I want to encourage that behavior happening here. 
Now, clearly, there needs to be a minimal level of involvement to exit
the Incubator (at least three folks, demonstration of meritocracy,
etc.).

Again, my fear is that such a policy to mandate three members acting
as mentors will prohibit any new projects that doesn't have a
hive-mind of Java developers behind it.  I'm just not seeing the
problem that'll be solved by raising the bar so high.

Have the projects with one interested mentor really been *that*
disruptive?  (I think it's quite to the contrary myself...)  -- justin
