The infrastructure folks are simply saying: list change requests should come from the PMC controlling that list. In other words, your notions of what is (or is not) policy are completely irrelevant. The PMC sets the policy for its lists. Some PMCs want Reply-To, and others do not. That is their choice. > Ordinary people would expect the same (mail lists would be created > in the config of appending "Reply-To:" as normal) goes for all the > developers' lists in apache.org. That is *YOUR* opinion. Other people have other opinions. The ASF has stated that the PMC gets to decide. Generally, that will mean the PMC asks the community what they would like. > Infrastructure Team, > Did you all forget the *FACT*? > > Again, "geronimo-dev" (@incubator) has already "VOTED" > about the "Reply-To:" HeaderLine issue. Please stop such a fool. You are TOTALLY out of line here, Tetsuya. Do not call the infrastructure team "a fool". They are doing exactly what they should be doing: leaving it up to the PMC. You, on the other hand, are suggesting that the ASF mandates a policy across all PMCs. That isn't going to happen at this point in time. Further, I do not recall any suggestions that geronimo-dev is going to change, especially in a way contrary to what that community has chosen. As a matter of fact, the list *was* initially set up without Reply-To on it. The community didn't like that and voted to have it altered. It was quickly changed, and has been like that ever since. How did they even come into this discussion? Now that said, I think you should attempt to be a bit less confrontational in your emails. -g -- gstein@apache.org ...
