Talk to your [mentors] From: Bertrand Delacretaz To: flex-dev@incubator.apache.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Hi, As a Flex incubation mentor I'm very happy about how this community is taking shape, but we've seen a few cases already where the rules at [1] and [2] are not sufficiently clear for our PPMC members to know what to do. The incubator docs [1], in particular, contain some outdated material and there are some gray areas in there unfortunately. I'd like to encourage our PPMC members [3] especially (and the whole community as well) to ask your incubation mentors[3] when anything's unclear as far as ASF and Incubator governance rules are concerned. As this is a busy list, using a [mentors] tag in the subject line of your message might help make sure we don't overlook such questions. You might also want to read [4] which is a short-form summary of how Apache projects work - there are far less "cast in stone" rules than ASF newbies usually think - don't strain too much. Thanks for listening, and keep up the good work (as the Big Bunch Of Flex Code is apparently coming in soon)! -Bertrand [1] http://incubator.apache.org/ [2] http://www.apache.org/foundation/how-it-works.html [3] http://incubator.apache.org/flex/team.html [4] https://blogs.apache.org/comdev/entry/what_makes_apache_projects_different
