Subject Unsure about something? Talk to your [mentors]
Date Sat, 14 Jan 2012 10:35:53 GMT
Hi,

As a Flex incubation mentor I'm very happy about how this community is
taking shape, but we've seen a few cases already where the rules at
[1] and [2] are not sufficiently clear for our PPMC members to know
what to do. The incubator docs [1], in particular, contain some
outdated material and there are some gray areas in there
unfortunately.

I'd like to encourage our PPMC members [3] especially (and the whole
community as well) to ask your incubation mentors[3] when anything's
unclear as far as ASF and Incubator governance rules are concerned.

As this is a busy list, using a [mentors] tag in the subject line of
your message might help make sure we don't overlook such questions.

You might also want to read [4] which is a short-form summary of how
Apache projects work - there are far less "cast in stone" rules than
ASF newbies usually think - don't strain too much.

Thanks for listening, and keep up the good work (as the Big Bunch Of
Flex Code is apparently coming in soon)!

-Bertrand
