Yep, vanilla installs running on localhost, no configuration changes (on
both 1.2.1 and 1.3.0) compiled from source:

Server: CouchDB/1.3.0 (Erlang OTP/R15B03)

I've replicated before no problem with authentication enabled but this just
seems odd to me...
