Hi Clarke,

It would be helpful if you could provide with the errors you ran into 
during installation. I installed CouchDB 1.1.0 from scratch (including 
Erlang/OTP R14B03) in CentOS 6.0, but I don't suppose it would make any 
difference if I would use Ubuntu.
