Alexander Shorin commented on COUCHDB-906:
------------------------------------------

I'll handle this.

Better to provide dynamic links from sidebar since it's allowed there to apply some logic
upon content generation. Current [PR|https://github.com/apache/couchdb/pull/85] may be good,
but main page isn't good place to this IMHO.

Sidebar links isn't good idea too (there are too many link already there), but docs redesign
(it should happens) is the another topic for another issue.

[~nslater] we can, but question (at least for me) is why we can't ship docs-only without help
of external non-ASF service. However, end users rarely cares about download url, especially
for docs (:

> I mainly work on the train or in airports without Internet access, so I need offline
documentation.
> I tried to wget -r the couchdb wiki but I hit some kind of flood protection.
> Apparently MoinMoin can sync between two instances if xmlrpc is enabled. It seems to
be enabled but broken in the CouchDB wiki.
> Please could you put the wiki pages into hg or git and offer a read-only clone or a downloadable
tarball of the html versions of the pages?
> Cheers, Chris.
