The symptom is that if I specify a wrong system name, instead of barfing, it assumes localhost.
 If I specify a correct system name, it does the same thing, uses localhost.

I'm using PostgreSQL 8.4 and looks like I updated the driver on 10/25/2010.  Opened the jar,
couldn't figure out how to tell what version I had.

I'm curious as to why you think the property is being ignored?  What is the symptom?  What
is the version of PostgreSQL?  You may need to update the postgresql driver in ./lib to get
it to work if it's new enough.
