Subject [jira] [Commented] (CLOUDSTACK-1436) 4.1 management server fails to start from RPM build artifacts
Date Thu, 28 Feb 2013 13:05:23 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1436?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13589515#comment-13589515
]

Noa Resare commented on CLOUDSTACK-1436:
----------------------------------------

The relevant part of the very long stack trace above is

"java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver found for jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/cloud?autoReconnect=true&prepStmtCacheSize=517&cachePrepStmts=true"

which is the result of an unintended interaction between how jdbc loads Driver instances from
jarfiles containing special metadata (such as mysql-connector-java-5.1.21.jar) and the way
in which apache tomcat uses custom classloaders to implement the semantics of webapp classpath
setup.

In retrospect the rather brutal hacking of the classpath.conf file in the packaging branch
should probably have been done in another way.

I'll revert that file, and come up with a better fix for the log4j-cloud.xml problem. Stay
tuned :)
