Yes, I'm testing that right now. Since we're calling chmod directly we migh=
t as well roll it into a single "mkdir -m 700 /root/.ssh".  If I chmod /roo=
t to add u+w, everything works. Apparently java uses the file permissions a=
s the authoritative source; we should be able to do what we want as root. I=
 don't think we want to mess with /root perms, so calling mkdir from shell =
should get around the issue.
