CloudStack snapshots are true backups. Snapshots are automatically copied to secondary storage.
After the snapshot is copied out, it is then deleted from primary storage.

We can have a Backup And Recovery Solution for the VM's. That feature will actually use the
Snapshot mechanisms to provide the backup and restore. The other option is to take the clone
of the entire VM at different stages and preserve it in backup store. But to clone the VM
it should be stopped which will disrupt the services provided by the VM for a long time.

Subject: Backup Products

Hello All,

We are worried about the lack of backup options we have for Cloudstack. Snapshots are great
but this is not true "backup".

Everything works with Xenserver but we can't find anything that is compatible with Cloudstack?

Kind Regards,
Marlon Davids
