What’s in /etc/security/limits.conf ? 

and just for fun what does lsof -n | grep java | wc -l  say ?

I haven't seen this since 1.0 days. 1.1.11 had it all fixed I thought.

ulimit outputs "unlimited"

What could cause this ?
