Subject Re: Using Thrift

I faced the same issue:

You can find the similar issue here.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8370365/debugging-bizarre-spring-slf4j-jar-issue

Also, Spring community is acknowledging on the SLF4J Issue here
(commons-logging issue):
http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.0.x/spring-framework-reference/htmlsingle/spring-framework-reference.html#dependency-management

You can exclude that jar file.

<dependency>
     <groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
     <artifactId>spring-context</artifactId>
     <version>3.0.0.RELEASE</version>
     <scope>runtime</scope>
     <exclusions>
        <exclusion>
           <groupId>commons-logging</groupId>
           <artifactId>commons-logging</artifactId>
        </exclusion>
     </exclusions>
  </dependency>
