Doesn't CQL have the same issue?

CREATE COLUMNFAMILY user_events (user text PRIMARY KEY)
   WITH *comparator*=timestamp AND *default_validation*=int;

Do CQL enhancements also belong in the same jira project, or somewhere
else?
