Update to workaround - turns out that setting is the key to getting xcodebuild to recognize
the CORDOVALIB environment variable, for "Source Trees":

defaults write com.apple.dt.Xcode IDESourceTreeDisplayNames -dict-add CORDOVALIB ""

then you would do in your shell:

CORDOVALIB=/path/to/your/cordovalib xcodebuild [PROJECTNAME].xcodeproj
