Alex Mayfield commented on CB-139:
----------------------------------

I was asked to provide a logcat of the app going through the motions. Here it is:

I/ActivityManager(   66): Start proc com.visitsouthwalton.beachfinder for activity com.visitsouthwalton.beachfinder/.BeachFinder:
pid=1036 uid=10036 gids={3003}
I/PhoneGapLog( 1036): Changing log level to DEBUG(3)
D/DroidGap( 1036): DroidGap.loadUrl(file:///android_asset/www/index.html)
D/DroidGap( 1036): DroidGap.init()
D/DroidGap( 1036): DroidGap: url=file:///android_asset/www/index.html baseUrl=file:///android_asset/www/
D/SoftKeyboardDetect( 1036): Ignore this event

I/ActivityManager(   66): Displayed activity com.visitsouthwalton.beachfinder/.BeachFinder:

D/dalvikvm( 1036): GC_FOR_MALLOC freed 2513 objects / 168392 bytes in 80ms

D/dalvikvm( 1036): GC_FOR_MALLOC freed 3599 objects / 493992 bytes in 130ms
D/PhoneGapLog( 1036): complete

D/PhoneGapLog( 1036): complete
D/PhoneGapLog( 1036): file:///android_asset/www/index.html: Line 74 : complete
I/Web Console( 1036): complete at file:///android_asset/www/index.html:74
D/PhoneGapLog( 1036): JSCallback Error: Request failed.
D/PhoneGapLog( 1036): file:///android_asset/www/phonegap-1.2.0.js: Line 867 : JSCallback Error:
Request failed.
I/Web Console( 1036): JSCallback Error: Request failed. at file:///android_asset/www/phonegap-1.2.0.js:867

All of this seems to happen only on the local page of the app. Switching to the remote page
(the one with phonegap.js that is causing the errors) doesn't seem to add anything to the
logcat other than perhaps a garbage collection message. However, if I wait long enough, I
get a:

    D/SntpClient( 66): request time failed: java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported
by protocol

> The majority of an application that I am developing is located on a remote website (and
is loaded from the first page with a window.location.href). For the most part, it works fine,
however I have discovered that the hardware "Back" button on Android does not function as
expected (it backs out of the entire application) and thus have tried to override it with
a back button callback.
> However, I have found that my attempt to include phonegap.js on the remote website is
having some unexpected consequences. As soon as I get to the remote page, I am getting spammed
with prompt after prompt that contains things such as the following:
> gap:["Device","getDeviceInfo","Device0",true]
> Looking at phonegap.js, it appears that this is coming from line 628, which is in the
function that handles communication with the native side of phonegap.
> Any ideas?
