I don't know if they should be part of PhoneGap, but there is a plugin I will be contributing
to the plugins repo - maybe someday it can graduate to be part of the core. Right now it is
in a branch off my fork of Hydra (iOS plugins branch)

That would be great. I think downloading and working with files is very important :-)

shazron, have you forked phonegap, added your plugin, and sent a pull request?
