 I considered both of those and think there are good ways we can make them
 work, but we should make one step at a time - I didn't want to bloat the
 requirements in this ticket.

 We should, but there's no problem with leaving the current process in
 place to be overridden when JS is enabled, right?

 There's a ticket for that , subject has been discussed recently in the
 mailing list , patches submitted , and afaicr this is scheduled for next
 minor release (cmiiw once again).

 I haven't kept up with all that recently, could you provide links for the
 ticket, discussion, etc please?
