Jeff Sposetti commented on AMBARI-1522:
---------------------------------------

I think can separate this into a few things:

1) Provide access to component and service logs from Ambari (Web and API): search, download,
etc... save the user from having to go command line, and having to know where the logs are
for everything, etc, etc
2) Provide a mechanism to funnel those logs into HDFS either directly or using opentsb for
easier analysis by an ops team
3) Also consider how ambari can direct all the metric data that is captured in ganglia into
HDFS as well. The combination of metrics data and log data can provide an ops team a pretty
decent dataset to analyze.
4) Once we have #2 and #3, provide some canned common reports on that metric + log data that
is exportable from Ambari to give a ops team a historic picture of cluster health and performance.
