Subject [jira] [Created] (AMBARI-1128) Ambari server JVM memory parameters are hard-coded
Date Wed, 02 Jan 2013 22:16:12 GMT
Siddharth Wagle created AMBARI-1128:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Ambari server JVM memory parameters are hard-coded
                 Key: AMBARI-1128
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1128
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: build
    Affects Versions: 1.2.0
            Reporter: Siddharth Wagle
            Assignee: Siddharth Wagle
             Fix For: 1.2.0
         Attachments: patch_3078.txt

Setting AMBARI_JVM_ARGS on the server will override the default memory settings for the JVM.

Example for setting custom memory parameters:

1. After completing ambari server setup, set the environment variable with the desired memory
settings,
  !# export AMBARI_JVM_ARGS="-Xms1024m -Xmx1620m"

2. Then start the ambari server
  !# ambari-server start

Verify that the server starts with desired memory settings for the JVM
