Yes the id's are all set.  My next thing I'm going to try is we are
using JSF 1.2 but aren't using the 1.2 branch, I'm in the process of
checking out and building and trying that.  If one of the developers
that knows about PPR could shed any light on this for me, or know if
switching to the 1.2 branch will help, please let me know.  I am balding
quickly from the stress of PPR.

Also try set the ids of the inputTexts as partialTriggers of the parent
of the outputText. This shouldn't have to be done unless it is trying to
from rendered = false to true or something like that, but is worth a
