I've tried this too

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" standalone="yes" ?>
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
    xmlns:tr="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad"
    xmlns:trh="http://myfaces.apache.org/trinidad/html">
    <jsp:output
        doctype-root-element="xhtml"
        doctype-public="-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
        doctype-system="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"/>

    <jsp:directive.page contentType="application/xhtml+xml;charset=utf-8" />
    <f:view>
        <tr:document title="

and it didn't work. Are there any examples for generating strict XHTML?
Thanks
