Correct, you can use either annotations or query entities to configure SQL
model for Ignite. More information here:
https://apacheignite.readme.io/docs/indexes

There is no way to use Hibernate configurations directly unless Ignite is
used as L2 cache for Hibernate:
https://apacheignite-mix.readme.io/docs/hibernate-l2-cache
