Subject RE: Error calling Connection.setAutoCommit:

Yes, but I think that might be a red herring. How many rows do you have in
DUAL?

  my (spring) datasource is;
      <bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource"
destroy-method="close">
		<property name="driverClassName" value="${database_driver}"
/>
		<property name="url" value="${database_url}" />
		<property name="username" value="${database_user}" />
		<property name="password" value="${database_password}" />
		<property name="defaultAutoCommit" value="true"/>
		<property name="defaultTransactionIsolation" value="2"/>
		<property name="maxActive" value="10"/>
		<property name="removeAbandoned" value="true"/>
		<property name="removeAbandonedTimeout" value="30"/>
		<property name="logAbandoned" value="false"/>
		<property name="validationQuery" value="select top 1
DealerCode from Dealer"/>
	</bean>

thanks
do you use it instead of:
<property name="poolPingQuery" value="select 1 from DUAL" />
<property name="poolPingEnabled" value="true" />
