Sorry to bother you again but I've repeatedly tried the below queries in
IBatis using the same username and p/w as squirrel and get the same
error each time. It states it doesn't recognize the .COLUMNS. In
squirrel, the .columns is in red and putting the cursor over it says it
doesn't recognize the table name (referring to .COLUMNS) yet still
returns the results. 

Every approach I try gives me the same error.

Hmm, I have never had a case where using the same connection string in
ibatis and in squirrel made the queries work differently..are you
connecting as the same user nad everything? ..because that should
work.
