Thanks for sharing your findings!

Didn't get a lot of help on the PHP list but the one fell= ow who tried is
still running PHP-5.=C2=A0 So, I backed off to PHP-5.6.30 which is the most=
recent stable version of PHP-5 and it worked perfectly.

If you look at the PHP-7.1.3 or 7.1.5 source in fpm_main.c there is a lot of commentary about being unable to recover the various script paths when called from Apache.=C2=A0 This is where the problem that I encountered was.=

So, there are a few updates required to the Apache documentation, as found<= br> in the fpm wiki:

1.=C2=A0 =C2=A0don't use PHP-7 fpm since as of right now it won't w= ork.=C2=A0 A good
programmer (not me!) might be able to fix it but then you would have a one-=
off and would have to support yourself.

2.=C2=A0 =C2=A0be careful, the ProxyPassMatch value for fcgi://=C2=A0 shoul= d not contain a
trailing '/'=C2=A0 because it leads to double '//' in the p= ath recovered by php-
fpm.

eg:

=C2=A0ProxyPassMatch "^/.*\.php(/.*)?$" fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/&l= t;path-to-script>

and NOT:

=C2=A0ProxyPassMatch "^/.*\.php(/.*)?$" fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/&l= t;path-to-script>/

This will work on UNIX based systems but seems to confuse php-fpm.

John
