Thanks gain Yann,

  $ ./configure --prefix=/apps/httpd --enable-so --enable-ssl=shared
--enable-headers=shared --with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl --with-mpm=worker

and still no .so files of any sort. let me try the make depend and see what
it says.thx
