The good news is that Apache is installed correctly.

Which directory is this? And how did you discern as much? Did you enter
this directory manually during the MSI package installation?

You need to be creating your documents (e.g., index.html) in Apache's
so-called "document root". If you examine "conf/httpd.conf" (this file
should be in your Apache program directory), you should find the
"DocumentRoot" directive a couple hundred lines into the file. This is
the directory to which you need to be adding your own files.

Also, are you browsing to http://localhost only? Or are you specifying a
file, like http://localhost/my-file.html? In the former case, Apache
will look for and serve "index.html", if it exists (otherwise it will
return a 404 response).
